Investment Delegation Meets Pakistan’s Privatization Minister

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of representatives from prominent investment banks, funds, and institutional investors met with Pakistan’s caretaker Minister for Privatization Fawad Hasan Fawad on Saturday to explore investment possibilities in Pakistan.

Organized by Trans-National Research Corporation, the group included delegates from renowned entities such as Fidelity Investments, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Barings, and William Blair Investment Management.

During the meeting, Minister Fawad shared the government’s vision for investment and the privatization of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). He provided an overview of the Privatization Commission’s operations and the current privatization agenda, with a specific focus on entities like PIACL, Roosevelt Hotel, FWBL, and HBFC.

The discussion covered the privatization process, expectations, and the minister addressed queries from the representatives, emphasizing the government’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in the privatization process. Minister Fawad also outlined future investment opportunities, urging the delegates to explore the vast potential for investment in Pakistan.

The delegation praised the government’s initiatives, expressing confidence that the ongoing efforts would create a conducive environment for investment in the country.
