Growing intolerance: Role of Media and Civil Society
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday stressed the need to end intolerance and hatred in society.
Addressing a seminar titled ‘Growing intolerance: Role of Media and Civil Society’ organized by International Islamic University here in Islamabad, the minister said that intolerance and hatred in society must be curbed to make the lives of the people better.
Promotion of positive thinking approach
“Eradication of intolerance and hatred is possible by promotion of positive thinking approach”, he said. The minister also highlighted the ways for ending the social scourges and termed the role of media crucial.
He urged media and civil society to play their role in creating awareness about extremism, intolerance, and their deadly impacts on societies.
