ISLAMABAD: International weightlifter of China Lyu Xiaojun has been suspended from international competition, as he remained 3-time Olympic and 5-time world champion and thrice Olympic champion owing to be tested positive for using a banned substance.
He lifted the gold medal in the 77 Kilograms weight category competition in 2022. Lyu, who won an 81kg title at Tokyo 2020, tested positive for erythropoietin during an out-of-competition test in October.

According to WADA rules, China’s weightlifter can request for analysis of his B-sample. The 38-year-old – also became the oldest man to win Olympic gold in the history of the sport when he claimed it in Tokyo last year, 2021.
