ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) asked the world community on Thursday to prevent India from carrying out a slow-motion genocide against Kashmiris through state terrorism.

Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, stated that the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government is hell-bent on uprooting Muslims and placing Hindu extremists in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to change the demography of the province.

After removing the IIOJK’s special status on August 5, 2019, he claimed that the Modi regime had taken one step after another to seize Kashmiris’ identity, culture, and land and impose its diabolical Hindutva ideology on them.

Meanwhile, in a statement, APHC-AJK chapter leader Muhammad Sultan Butt expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continuous support of the Kashmiri freedom fight. He hoped Pakistan would step up its efforts to draw attention to the Kashmir problem on a global scale.

APHC urges International Community

Altaf Hussain Wani, a senior APHC leader and the head of the Kashmir Institute of International Relations, urged the international community and the UN to take notice of the ongoing atrocities committed by Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris in the IIOJK and compel India to give the right of self-determination to the Kashmiri people by UN resolutions.

He stated that the Kashmiris would not turn back from their fundamental demands for the right to self-determination. The people of Kashmir refused to compromise on their demand for the right to self-determination or submit to the illegal strategies used by the Indian occupation forces in IIOJK.

Wani stated that the UN had already passed resolutions granting the Kashmiri people the right to self-determination. He said, “Unfortunately, the UN failed to implement its resolutions despite a gap of more than seven decades.”

He claimed that the cancellation of Articles 370 and 35-A resulted from malicious Indian plans to alter Kashmir’s demographics. He claimed that the illegal actions were carried out to reduce the Muslim majority to a minority.

“The agenda is clear,” he continued, “and that is hegemonic designs to impose the long-desired Hindutva agenda in IIOJK.” He continued by saying that the people of Kashmir had already rejected the repeal of Articles 370 and 35-A.

Abdul Mateen, a top Kashmiri leader, claimed that the residents of the occupied valley were compelled to live in conditions that prevented them from breathing freely. In addition to a rigorous communications blockade that included a prohibition on newspapers, the internet, and social media, IIOJK was under total military siege.

He said that innocent people had been killed and thousands of Kashmiri youth had been detained under the Public Safety Act’s black law.

He believed that long-term peace in the area could not be achieved until the Kashmir issue was resolved amicably, as the Kashmiri people desired.

He also conveyed his grave concern regarding the heinous murders and gross human rights abuses committed by Indian soldiers in the region. It was deeply concerning that almost 10 million Kashmiris were constantly besieged by over one million occupying forces who had been given full rein to slaughter people with impunity.

He criticized the implementation of all draconian laws and the provision of every shield provided to men in uniform to carry out the systematic genocide of Kashmiri Muslims.
