International Community Urged to Hold India Accountable for Atrocities in IIOJK

MUZAFFARABAD: In connection with ‘Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir’ (Kashmir Exploitation Day), August 5, Amir Abdul Ghaffar Lone, Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), paid tribute to the unwavering struggle of the Kashmiri people for the right to self-determination.

In his message, Minister Lone highlighted the countless sacrifices made by successive generations of Kashmiri people in the face of Indian tactics, atrocities, cruelty, and aggression. He condemned India’s actions on August 5, 2019, stating that they are a clear violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The minister emphasized that the future of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) should be determined through a free and impartial referendum under the supervision of the United Nations, in accordance with the will of the Kashmiri people.

International Community Rejected Indian Actions

Amir Abdul Ghaffar Lone asserted that Pakistanis, Kashmiris, and the international community have rejected India’s actions in the region. He called upon the international community to support the Kashmiri people against Indian atrocities and urged for practical steps to hold India accountable for serious human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He further stressed that the only viable solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in the implementation of the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. The minister urged the international community to play an active role in facilitating a peaceful resolution to the long-standing conflict in Kashmir.

On ‘Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir,’ the entire Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with the Kashmiri people, acknowledging their resilience and determination in their quest for justice and self-determination.
