Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti told a press conference in Quetta that at least 145 terrorists had been killed in nearly 40 hours of operations following coordinated attacks by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) across 12 towns.

India behind coordinated terror attacks

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said coordinated terrorist attacks were carried out at 12 locations across Balochistan with the intention of causing mass casualties.

According to the Defence Minister, intelligence reports and confessional statements from arrested militants clearly indicate that the links of these terrorist activities lead back to India.

Addressing reporters in Sialkot, he said suicide attacks were attempted on Frontier Corps headquarters in Nushki and Dalbandin, but all were foiled due to timely action by security forces.

Asif said intelligence reports and confessional statements from arrested suspects indicated links to India.

He also expressed concern over the exploitation of women and children by terrorist groups.

The defence minister said that coordinated terrorist attacks were a deliberate attempt to cause widespread bloodshed.

He stated that these attacks were aimed at compensating for the losses suffered over the past year by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and its affiliated organisations.

The Defence Minister said that multiple locations across Balochistan were targeted simultaneously, highlighting the organised nature of the attacks.

He described these incidents as reflecting a clear nexus, two sides of the same coin, between India and the BLA, stating that the BLA was operating as a proxy of India.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that following the major setback faced by India in May last year, such attacks are now being used to deliberately target civilian populations.

He said these actions are intended to destabilise Pakistan at a time when the country, after enduring two years of economic hardship, has begun progressing again by the grace of God.

He added that India and the BLA want to push Pakistan back into economic darkness and undermine its national integrity.

Officials said tracing and combing operations were continuing across Balochistan. Bugti said the province would be taken towards peace through engagement with communities, while intelligence-based operations against terrorists would continue.
