Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti Visits Police Line HQs, Pays Homage to Martyrs

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday visited Police Line Headquarters Islamabad and paid homage to the martyrs of the police.

The minister was received by Secretary Interior Aftab Durrani and ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan at police line headquarters where he laid the wreath on the monument of martyrs and offered Fatiha.

Addressing the gathering, Sarfraz Bugti said that the martyrs were blessed by Allah almighty and were an asset to the nation who laid their lives for the prosperous future of the country.

The minister also inaugurated a women’s driving center and visited the central police office where he was greeted by the officers and briefed on the functioning of Islamabad police.

ICCPO informed the minister that Islamabad police were actively running a campaign against smuggling and drugs and the declining trend was witnessed in crimes.

The minister commended the police for maintaining a law and order situation in Islamabad while making an announcement that the police would be equipped with modern techniques and gadgets to control crimes.

He urged the officers to perform their duties with dedication and devotion behave friendly with the citizens and resolve their problems on priority. The minister stressed the writ of the state would be ensured at all costs.

Interior Minister Attends Seminar

Separately, the minister also attended a seminar titled “Balochistan Rural Development and Community Empowerment,” in the federal capital.

Addressing the closing session of the event, he said that full utilization of mineral resources was required for the development of Balochistan and the situation in the province could be improved by increasing political commitment and capacity. He thanked European contributors on behalf of the people of Pakistan for holding the event.

Bugti asked the European Union (EU) to continue its efforts to organize such informative seminars which could help to sensitize people of the province living in remote parts.

The minister said that non-Balanced development was the issue of all developing nations and politics over this matter was not the solution. He said that Pakistan would have to focus on plans for the development of new generations.
