Interim Sindh Cabinet Takes Oath at Governor House

KARACHI: The newly appointed members of the interim Sindh cabinet have taken their oath of office in a ceremony held at the Sindh Governor House. Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori administered the oath to the ministers in the swearing-in ceremony, attended by Interim Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar, the chief secretary, interim Sindh police chief, and provincial secretaries.

The 10-member Caretaker Cabinet consists of retd Brig Haris Nawaz, Ishwar Laal, Dr Saad Niaz, Khuda Bakhsh Marri, Dr Rana Hussain, Umar Soomro, Dr Junaid Shah, Mubeen Jumani, former housing secretary Younus Dhaga, and Rashid Wali Muhammad.

According to a notification, Brig Nawaz has been assigned the portfolio of the home department, while Muhammad Younus Dagha will oversee the Ministry of Planning, Finance, Development, and Revenue. Mubeen Jumani will lead the Ministry of Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, and Rehabilitation, and Saad Khalid Niaz has been given the Health, Social Welfare, and Public Health Engineering Ministries. Junaid Shah has been allocated the portfolios of Youth Affairs, Sports, Culture, and HR Development, while Rana Hussain will oversee the Ministries of School Education, College Education, and Women Empowerment.

Ishwar Lal has been allocated the Irrigation Ministry, Arshad Wali Muhammad will oversee the Tourism, Environment, and Climate Change Ministries, while Omar Soomro will manage the Law, Religious Affairs, and Human Rights Ministries. Khuda Bux Marri has secured the Mines and Minerals Ministry.
