ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday said no compromise will be made on national security issues.

Talking to the media in front of Parliament in Islamabad, the minister said that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) should be held accountable for its actions against national institutions and fake narratives that damaged the country’s foreign relations.

Terming the party as a political risk, Attaullah Tarar said the recent offer of dialogue by the PTI leader is part of their conspiracy against the state. He said once again PTI wants to politicize national institutions for its political gain.

Calling PTI a terrorist party, the minister said this party always promoted chaos in the country. It attacked mausoleums of martyrs and national institutions during the 9th May incidents. The presence of PTI’s founder’s sisters and his nephew in front of Jinnah House on 9th May shows his family was directly involved in those attacks.

Talking about the country’s economy, the minister said the recent Fitch rating validates our prudent economic policies that have put the country on the path of progress and development. He said the interest rates are coming down while our foreign reserves are witnessing a sharp rise.

Attaullah Tarar said since the imprisonment of PTI’s founder, the country’s stock exchange has shown a constant boom which shows his presence is the major hindrance in the development.

Earlier today, PTI’s jailed founder Imran Khan said that his party was ready to hold talks with the state.

The PTI founder, who appeared in a court established in Adiala jail for a hearing, said: “We are ready to hold talks with the state.”
