ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday laid the foundation stone of a 1000 KW digital DRM medium wave transmitter project at Radio Pakistan, Rawat. As per media reports, the transmitter will be installed in Rawat, Rawalpindi, and is set to be completed within two years.

Speaking on the occasion, Marriyum Aurangzeb said this digital transmitter will increase the signal strength and range of Radio Pakistan’s broadcasts to several nations in Middle East, Central Asia, Far East and eastern Europe as well in South Asia. She added the project is a milestone in modernizing Pakistan’s broadcaster and enhancing the quality of its broadcast.

The Minister said national broadcasters are the identity of a nation and they should be made more and more efficient.
