ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that Qatar has committed to invest US $ 3 billion in Pakistan’s economy.
He made the remarks while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday to present an overview of the recently concluded visits of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The Minister said Qatar and Pakistan have vowed to strengthen cooperation in diverse areas, including investment, trade, culture and economy. He added that the pledged investment of US $ 3 billion will further strengthen the economy of Pakistan.

Attaullah Tarar said an exhibition about Pakistani art and architecture was also organized during Prime Minister’s visit to Qatar, which is a major development in Pakistan-Qatar friendship. He said the Prime Minister thanked Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his support and cooperation for Pakistan.
Regarding Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia, he said the PM had constructive meetings with the Saudi leadership, including Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He added Saudi investments in Pakistan have surged from US $ 2.2 billion to US $ 2.8 billion and this increase of US $ 600 million shows growing relationship between the two friendly nations.
Attaullah Tarar said the Prime Minister, during his visit, also strongly condemned the continued Israeli aggression against the unarmed people of Palestine.
