Inflation Rate in Pakistan for February 2023 Rose to 31.5%: Report

ISLAMABAD: Inflation rate (Consumer Price Index) in Pakistan rose to 31.5% on year-on-year basis in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 27.6% in the previous month and 12.2% in corresponding month of last year.

Meanwhile, on month-on-month basis, CPI inflation General surged by 4.3% in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 2.9% in the previous month and an increase of 1.2% in February 2022.

CPI inflation Urban

CPI inflation Urban, increased to 28.8% on year-on-year basis in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 24.4% in the previous month and 11.5% in February 2022. On month-on-month basis, it increased to 4.5% in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 2.4% in the previous month and an increase of 0.9% in February 2022.

CPI inflation Rural

CPI inflation Rural, increased to 35.6% on year-on-year basis in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 32.3% in the previous month and 13.3% in February 2022. On month-on-month basis, it increased to 4.0% in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 3.6% in the previous month and an increase of 1.5% in corresponding month of last year.

SPI inflation

SPI inflation on YoY increased to 33.6% in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 30.5% a month earlier and 18.7% in February 2022. On MoM basis, it increased by 3.7% in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 1.3% a month earlier and an increase of 1.3% in February 2022.

WPI inflation

WPI inflation on YoY basis increased to 36.4% in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 28.5% a month earlier and an increase of 23.6% in February 2022. On MoM basis, it increased by 8.2% in February 2023 as compared to an increase of 1.8% a month earlier and an increase of 1.9% in corresponding month of last year.
