JAKARTA: Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo, commonly known as Jokowi, has expressed his intention to discuss the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas with US President Joe Biden during their upcoming meeting on Monday.
As the leader of the world’s most extensive Muslim-majority nation, Jokowi is slated to attend an international summit in Riyadh, which focuses on addressing the Israel-Hamas conflict. He has stated that he will convey the outcomes of the summit to President Biden. Jokowi has urged for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Hamas-Israel war but did not provide specific details about the measures to achieve this goal.
The Israel-Hamas conflict intensified when Hamas infiltrated Israeli territory on October 7, resulting in the deaths of 1,400 individuals. In response, the Israeli military launched a series of continuous attacks on Gaza, causing Palestinian authorities to report more than 10,500 casualties.
