RIYADH: Indonesian President Joko Widodo expressed strong support for the Joint Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, stating that the timing is ideal for achieving concrete outcomes to bring an end to Israel’s violations in Gaza and alleviate the prolonged suffering of the Palestinian people.

While addressing the Joint Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, President Widodo reiterated Indonesia’s commitment to the summit, emphasizing the crucial moment it represents in addressing the ongoing crisis in the Palestinian territories.

Highlighting the need for unity among Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) nations, President Widodo called for a collective demand for an unconditional ceasefire. He emphasized that without such a ceasefire, the situation in Palestinian territories, especially the loss of civilian lives, will persist. The Indonesian President stressed the urgency of finding effective ways to pressure Israel to halt its military operations and ensure the delivery of essential humanitarian aid.
