KAPUAS HULU: The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) have started conducting a coordinated joint patrol to strengthen security measures and inspect border markers along the West Kalimantan-Sarawak border.
The coordinated effort also aims to prevent various illicit activities, including drug trafficking, illegal logging, mining, and unauthorized crossings.
Colonel Mohamad Isnaeni, Chief of Staff of TNI’s 121/Alambhana Wanawai Military Resort Command, emphasized the importance of the joint operation in maintaining law and order along the border region. Speaking in Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan, Colonel Isnaeni highlighted the patrol’s role in enhancing the capabilities of both military institutions to safeguard territorial integrity and prevent transboundary crimes.
“The joint patrol will continue until July 21 and is a crucial mission aimed at fostering a conducive environment along our shared borders,” stated Colonel Isnaeni. He expressed confidence that the collaborative effort would not only improve professionalism among soldiers but also strengthen the longstanding friendship between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Colonel Isnaeni urged TNI soldiers stationed in the border area to uphold the positive rapport established with their Malaysian counterparts, stressing the importance of carrying out their duties with honor and diligence.
“I believe that through our concerted efforts, we can achieve the ultimate objective of this coordinated patrol,” Colonel Isnaeni affirmed. He underscored the shared commitment of Indonesia and Malaysia to regional stability and cooperation.
