BALI, Indonesia: Indonesia all-rounder Gede Priandana made cricket history on Tuesday by becoming the first bowler to take five wickets in a single over in international cricket.

The unprecedented achievement occurred during Indonesia’s dominant 60-run victory in the first T20I against Cambodia on Tuesday.

Priandana carved his name into history with an immortal over (W, W, W, 0, W, W), becoming the first cricketer to take five wickets in an international over, sealing a famous win and a unique legacy.

A Spell for the Ages

Priandana’s moment of immortality arrived in the 16th over of Cambodia’s chase. With the visitors at 106-5 and needing 62 runs, the right-arm seamer was introduced and promptly dismantled the lower order.

He struck with his first ball to remove set batter Shah Abrar Hussain (61), completed a hat-trick on the next two deliveries, and after a dot ball, claimed two more wickets off his fifth and sixth legal balls.

His final, mind-boggling figures read 1-0-1-5, securing the win and a unique world record.

Story of the Match

The match was first set up by a blistering third T20I century from wicketkeeper-batter Dharma Kesuma, whose 110 off 68 balls propelled Indonesia to 167-5.

In reply, Cambodia fought through an 80-run partnership before Priandana’s devastating over triggered a spectacular collapse, bundling Cambodia out for 107 and etching his name into cricketing lore forever.
