NEW DELHI: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday successfully placed 36 satellites into orbit using its heaviest rocket LVM3, officials said.
The rocket blasted off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, off the Bay of Bengal coast located in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh at 9:00 am local time (0330 GMT).
The agency confirmed the launch’s success on Twitter, calling the mission “accomplished”.
The LVM3 carried 5805 kgs (12,798 pounds) of payload to Low Earth Orbit, ISRO wrote on twitter.

ISRO’s LVM3-M3 mission
The LVM3-M3 mission is a commercial mission for OneWeb, a UK-based satellite company, under an agreement with New Space India Limited (NSIL), a government-run firm, to launch 72 satellites to Low-Earth orbits, according to ISRO.
This is the second mission for OneWeb with the first set of 36 satellites launched on October 23, 2022.
