SRINAGAR: Indian troops are reported to have continued their violent cordon and search operations (CASOs) in various areas of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The operations, conducted under the guise of detecting suspicious movements, have been ongoing in Rajouri and Poonch districts since December 21, 2023, Kashmir Media Service reported.

During these operations, troops allegedly enter houses, harass residents, and pressure them to collaborate with the Indian army as informers against pro-freedom activists.

The report highlights a previous incident on December 22, 2023, where three civilians were reportedly martyred in custody, and several others were injured.

Moreover, cordon and search operations were reportedly carried out in Shopian, Kulgam, and Pulwama areas.
