Indian NHRC Receives 1,164 Human Rights Violation Cases from IIOJK

ISLAMABAD: The Indian government has admitted that over 1,100 human rights violation cases were registered with India’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) during the last three years from India Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

 

Kashmir Media Service reported that the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs informed the parliament that 1,164 human rights cases from IIOJK have been registered with the NHRC from Oct 1, 2019, to December 2022.

 

The information was given by the Indian Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, in response to a written question by the National Conference’s Member of Indian Parliament, Hasnain Masoodi, from the Islamabad constituency of IIOJK.

 

The Indian home affairs minister said, “Out of those, 111 have been considered and closed by the commission, 368 have been disposed of with direction, 484 have been dismissed.”
