KOCHI, Indian Ocean: Indian Navy announced the successful rescue of an Iranian fishing vessel, Al Naeemi, from Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean.

The naval vessel INS Sumitra, operating 850 nautical miles west of Kochi, compelled the safe release of the vessel and its 19 Pakistani crew members. This marks the second rescue operation by the Indian Navy within two days, highlighting the ongoing threat of piracy in the strategically crucial Indian Ocean.
