JAMMU: Vikar Rasool Wani, the President of the Indian National Congress in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has strongly criticized the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing it of pushing the entire occupied region into darkness in pursuit of power. His comments came during a review meeting in Banihal, Ramban, where a wide range of issues, including unemployment and the lack of development, were discussed.
According to reports from Kashmir Media Service, Wani didn’t mince words as he condemned the BJP-led Indian government for allegedly depriving Jammu and Kashmir of its democratic rights, resulting in significant setbacks to the region’s developmental progress. He contended that the government’s actions have led to severe hardships for the people and pushed them into darkness in various aspects of their lives, all for the sake of political power.
Wani also took the opportunity to call upon the Election Commission of India, urging it to take immediate measures to hold Assembly and other elections in the territory before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. His plea reflects the desire for democratic representation and self-governance in the region.
