ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said on Wednesday that the Indian Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was tantamount to rubbing salt on the wounds of the people of Kashmir.

Amit Shah is landing in Kashmir on a day-long visit on Friday. He will address a rally in Jammu and chair a high-level security review meeting.

Saghar said that Amit Shah’s trip was a political drama aimed at promoting the agenda of Hindutva by communalizing the situation in the valley.

He said by such a political gimmick, the Modi regime is trying to cover up the serious situation in Kashmir.

Indian Home Minister’s Anti-Kashmir Moves

Amit Shah is the architect of Articles 370 and 35A abrogation policy, which snatched away the basic rights of Kashmiris and gave a free hand to the Indian troops to silence the political voices in Kashmir with brute force, he added.

Saghir said that the illegal detention of thousands of Kashmiris, including APHC leadership, the seizure of properties and land, and other anti-Kashmir measures of the Indian government and his collaborators in the valley would be frustrating.

He further said that no one would be allowed to suppress the righteous political demand for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

Saghir said that Kashmiris would not let India success at any cost. Even in the presence of more than eleven Lakh Indian Army, police, and paramilitary forces, India can never change the ground realities in the valley by forcing Kashmiris out of their homes.

He added that the intensification of Indian state terrorism and atrocities would neither deter the Kashmiri people from continuing their struggle for their just right to self-determination nor would such tactics affect the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.
