ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan neutralised 12 Indian drones launched against several cities, Pakistan-state run television PTV reported on Thursday.
He said that the Pakistan armed forces, being at a “high state of alert and vigilance” have so far neutralised 12 drones at various locations.
Blatant act of aggression
State-run Radio Pakistan reported that Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said, last night, India undertook yet another blatant military act of aggression against Pakistan by sending Harop Drones at multiple locations.
He said these locations include Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalpur, Miyano and Chore near Karachi.
He said other than these [neutralised] drones, one drone managed to engage a military target near Lahore partially in which four men of Pakistan Army were injured, and the equipment was also damaged partially, Radio Pakistan reported.
He further said that in another drone activity in Miyano, one civilian embraced martyrdom while another sustained injuries.
“Naked aggression”
The DG ISPR said the process of India’s sending of these drones, which is naked aggression, is continuing while the Armed Forces of Pakistan are on a high degree of alert and neutralising them. He made it clear that this is a serious provocation.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said having miserably failed on the night between 6th and 7th May, when they attacked places of worship, civilian infrastructure and killed innocent civilians including children and women and elderly, and not only that having faced the destructions of five of their aircrafts, multiple drones and suffering heavy casualties along the Line of Control, it appears that India has apparently lost the plot.
“Hubristic mindset” of Indian government
He said rather than going on path of rationality, India is further escalating highly charged environment to satisfy the hubristic mindset of the Indian government, according to Radio Pakistan.
The DG ISPR said the international community can visibly see the path that India is treading to this extremely provocative military aggression in a region, which is highly fragile and putting the security of the region and beyond at risk.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reiterated that Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully vigilant in any type of threat, according to Radio Pakistan.
