RAWALPINDI: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, on Friday night said that India launched six ballistic missiles from its airbase in Adampur, with one targeting “their own area of Adampur and five have targeted the Indian Punjab area of Amritsar”.

“India has fired six ballistic missiles from Adampur, with one targeting their own general area of Adampur and five targeting the Indian Punjab general area of Amritsar,” DG ISPR said. Adampur is a town in the Jalandhar district of Indian Punjab.

According to security sources, Pakistan has electronic evidence of India firing six ballistic missiles into its own territory.

The DG ISPR characterised the incident as a reckless move that endangered civilian lives and raised serious questions about India’s operational intent and internal targeting protocols.

Lt Gen Chaudhry expressed deep concern over the incident, stating that India has endangered its own citizens through this reckless use of ballistic weaponry.

“India is targeting through its schemes, population of Sikhs in Indian Punjab. All our sympathies are with Sikhs and minorities who are falling victim to its (India’s) own internal conspiracies,” Pakistan’s military spokesman said.

Extending solidarity with the Sikh community and other minorities in Amritsar, the DG ISPR accused the Indian government of deliberately targeting Sikhs.

“This alarming act is another example of the suppression faced by minorities, particularly Sikhs, within India,” he said.

“This is a shocking development and provocation of the highest order, where India has now started firing ballistic missiles at its own population, which doesn’t make any sort of sense. This is an act bereft of sanity.”

The security sources said that India has five ballistic missiles in Amritsar and one in Adampur.

By targeting Sikhs in Punjab, India wants to create hatred among Sikhs against Pakistan, security sources.

Earlier, India had fired three missiles at Amritsar on the night of May 7/8, which was mentioned by the DG ISPR in his press conference, security sources.

Similarly, by firing ballistic missiles at its own people, India wants to sell the lie to the world that Pakistan is firing missiles at India to justify further aggression, security sources.

Earlier, addressing the international media flanked by the officers of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Navy (PN), the ISPR DG revealed how Indian media quickly blamed Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack without any investigation.

The military spokesperson questioned how India concluded within ten minutes that Pakistan was behind the Pahalgam incident, adding that India is targeting women, children, and innocent civilians in Pakistan. He said that Indian strikes killed a total of 33 people, including children and women.

“The fact of the matter is that terrorism occurs in Pakistan daily, and India is behind it,” he stated.

The DG ISPR challenged India to present evidence, if it has any, of Pakistan’s attacks on Indian military installations with drone and missiles.

“Pakistan has not used drones or rockets. If India claims otherwise, let it present evidence,” he challenged, criticising Indian media for spreading “fabricated stories.”

He said that the Pakistani military’s retaliation against India’s aggression was limited to the Indian military posts firing at civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC).

Chaudhry asserted that Indian forces are involved in terror activities not just in Pakistan, but in countries like the United States and Canada.

“There is credible evidence of Indian handlers assigning terror tasks to militants operating in Pakistan,” he said, adding that intercepted communications between Indian soldiers and terrorist operatives have been documented.

He denounced Indian media, stating it continuously spreads falsehoods. “Indian journalists like Barkha Dutt have used their platforms to amplify misinformation,” he said. He cited a recent case in the UK where an Indian diplomat falsely accused a person conducting a funeral prayer of terrorism.

He also refuted India’s claims linking Pakistan to the recent Pahalgam incident. “Pakistan has no connection with that event. If India believes otherwise, it should agree to an independent investigation,” he said.

“Pakistan is the final barrier against terrorism in the region,” DG ISPR concluded. “We do not support any terrorist organisation. We are its victims—and we fight back, not just for ourselves, but for regional peace.”
