ISLAMABAD: India, in sheer disregard of internationally-accepted principles, has carried out shelling on the sensitive, Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project.

India in a cowardly attack targeted the intake structure of the Noseri Dam located on the Neelum River at 2am last night, according to Pakistan’s security sources.

The attack that was carried out in blatant violation of international laws, according to the sources, damaged the intake gates located in the desanders unit.

Clear violation

A hydraulic protection unit of the hydraulic system was also targeted, they said.

Moreover, an ambulance was also damaged in the attack.

Targeting water reservoirs like sensitive installations is a clear violation of internationally accepted rules.

The Pakistan military has shot down five Indian fighter jets and destroyed a Brigade Headquarters and several Indian Army posts in retaliation for late-night air strikes by India launched after midnight at the sites of Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muridke, Bagh and Muzaffarabad.
