India Beat Pakistan by 90 Runs in U19 Asia Cup as Bowlers Dominate

DUBAI: India produced a disciplined bowling performance to defeat Pakistan by 90 runs in their ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 clash at the ICC Academy on Sunday.

Chasing 241 in a rain-reduced 49-over match, Pakistan were bowled out for 150 in 41.2 overs, unable to cope with sustained pressure from India’s attack.

Pakistan began cautiously and reached 21 without loss in eight overs before Deepesh Devendran triggered a collapse.

He removed Sameer Minhas (9), Ali Hassan Baloch (0) and Ahmed Hussain (4) in quick succession.

Usman Khan, who had held one end, was dismissed by Kanishk Chouhan in the 14th over as Pakistan slipped to 30 for four.

Huzaifa Ahsan offered resistance with a composed 70 off 83 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes.

He added 47 runs for the fifth wicket with captain Farhan Yousaf, who scored 23.

Once Yousaf fell in the 24th over, Pakistan continued to lose wickets at regular intervals.

Ahsan eventually departed in the 39th over, and Kishan Singh wrapped up the innings soon after.

Devendran and Chouhan claimed three wickets each, while Kishan took two. Khilan Patel and Vaibhav Suryavanshi picked up one apiece.

George anchors India innings

Earlier, India were bowled out for 240 in 46.1 overs after being asked to bat. Their innings was built around a patient 85 from Aaron George, who struck 12 fours and a six.

India lost opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi for five in the fourth over but recovered through a brisk 49-run stand between George and captain Ayush Mhatre.

Mhatre scored 38 off 25 balls before falling in the 10th over.

India slipped to 113 for four before George and wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu added 60 for the fifth wicket.

Kundu made 22, while Kanishk Chouhan later contributed a steady 46.

Pakistan’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan taking three each.

Niqab Shafiq claimed two, while Ali Raza and Ahmed Hussain took one apiece.
