After the killings, security forces were rushed to the village to nab the attackers but they failed and could not arrest the perpetrators of the attack.

More than 150 people have been killed so far in the ongoing violence due to the ethnic clashes between the minority tribal Kuki and the majority Meitei group in Manipur. Hundreds of houses and shops were destroyed by mobs and violent groups in the region.

Earlier, a mob paraded naked two women in the violence-hit northeastern state of Manipur.   “The gang rape of the women happened after the village was burnt down and two men – one middle-aged and another a teenager – were beaten to death by the mob,” local said. Several opposition leaders, the international community also criticized the BJP government for not doing enough to quell the violence in the state.
