BEIJING: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing on Wednesday celebrated the 78th Independence Day anniversary with a flag hoisting ceremony. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the raising of the national flag by Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, joined by embassy officials and a large gathering of the Pakistani community in Beijing.
During the ceremony, messages of felicitation from Pakistan’s President, Prime minister, and Deputy prime minister were read aloud. These messages paid tribute to the nation’s struggle for independence under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, which led to the creation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947. The messages also underscored the importance of upholding the ideals of the freedom movement’s leaders, such as selfless dedication and commitment, as vital to the country’s ongoing development and progress.
In his address, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi congratulated the Pakistani community on this significant occasion and highlighted the essential role of overseas Pakistanis in contributing to the economic growth and prosperity of Pakistan. He encouraged the community to continue their active efforts in strengthening the long-standing bonds of friendship between China and Pakistan.
