ISLAMABAD: In the last few years, the city scape of Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad has changed drastically. A number of high-rises have sprung up in the commercial heart of the city. The city that emerged as Pakistan’s capital in 1963 has long taken pride in its serenity, greenery and cleanliness. Indeed, the rapid changes would require maintaining what the city residents have always taken pride in i.e. its clean and green environment.
Here is a look at some of the new and latest constructions going on in Pakistan’s capital.

The city’s master plan was crafted by Doxiadis Associates, which adopted a grid-based design facing the Margalla Hills. The city has seen drastic expansion in the last two decades.

The city’s main commercial area, the Blue Area is seeing rapid expansion, and numerous high-rises have sprung up.

Due to the fast pace of new construction work going on in Islamabad, visitors and residents of the area have faced temporary inconvenience.
