ISLAMABAD: The government has submitted documentary evidence of facilities being given to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder in Adiala jail, rebutting the ex-prime minister’s claims that he was being kept in solitary confinement, local media reported.
“The jail officials do not let me meet my legal team. I am being kept in solitary confinement in jail. I neither have a library or any material to prepare for the case,” Imran Khan had apprised the CJP during a hearing of the NAB law amendments.
The images shared with the SC showed that the PTI founder was given with several facilities that a common prisoner cannot imagine since he’s an ex-prime minister.
The PTI founder has an exercise bike and stretching belt for physical fitness, a separate kitchen, books, a special menu, LED, a room cooler, an exclusive gallery for a walk and a study table.
To set the record straight, the government has stated that during the hearing on May 30, the former Priome Minister, who had joined the hearing through video link claimed that “his legal team was being refused access to him and that he was being kept in solitary confinement”.
In a detailed document submitted to the apex court, the government has provided photos of all the facilities and names of all the people who have visited the founder of PTI so far.
