ISLAMABAD: Hinting at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s disqualification, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday said that PTI chief would never be a key player in national politics again.

Embattled Khan faces over 100 cases of different natures including treason, sedition, murder, mutiny, contempt of court and others since his ouster in April last year through a parliamentary vote, but was able to hit back at the government.

But after the May 9 episode, after he was arrested from the Islamabad High Court premises, the authorities began clamping down on his party with scores of leaders sent to jail and many others parting ways with the PTI.

“He is a miscreant. He brought indecency into politics,” the minister said while talking to a private Tv channel as he slammed Khan for his tirade against the ruling coalition. Sanaullah claimed that if PTI thinks its vote bank has increased post-May 9, it is living in a fantasy.

The interior minister said the PTI chief induced hatred in the youth. “Now, every sensible person is well aware about his plans to spread chaos,” he added.
