ISLAMABAD: Following the arrest of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan by Rangers outside the Islamabad High Court, a medical board led by Dr. Fareed Ullah Shah has arrived at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi office, to conduct a medical checkup on the detained PTI Chairman.
The medical board, comprising seven members from Poly Clinic Hospital in Islamabad, was formed to examine Imran Khan’s health condition during his period of custody. Led by Dr. Fareed Ullah Shah, the board consists of specialized experts in various medical disciplines.
Imran Khan, who had appeared at the Islamabad High Court seeking bail against multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against him, was swiftly taken into custody by the Rangers. Initial reports indicate that he was transported in an armoured vehicle.
Confirming the arrest, PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry acknowledged that Imran Khan had been detained and was in the custody of the NAB authorities.

The board will conduct the medical checkup to ensure that Imran Khan’s health and well-being are appropriately addressed during his custody. The comprehensive examination will be carried out in accordance with medical protocols and standards, providing a thorough assessment of his physical and mental condition.
NAB sources claimed that Imran Khan was arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case, and he was shifted to the NAB Rawalpindi office for further probe.
Imran Khan’s arrest comes a few hours after he issued a video statement criticizing the ISPR, stating that “not only a single institution is sacrosanct but every citizen is respectable.”

Islamabad Police chief confirmed that the former premier had been taken into custody in the Al-Qadir Trust case. He said that Section 144 has been imposed in the federal capital and the situation was under control.
He claimed that the former prime minister had been shifted to the NAB Rawalpindi office.
