LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has summoned the party’s top leadership meeting tomorrow (Monday) to discuss the future plan of action after he announced to quit the assemblies.
Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, a senior PTI leader, and Punjab Government’s spokesperson, said on Sunday that the PTI chairman would consult party leaders on the issue of resignations from all the assemblies.
While addressing the long march participants in Rawalpindi on Saturday, Imran Khan announced quitting all the assemblies, forcing the federal government to fresh elections. Khan said he would discuss the timing of the resignations with the chief ministers and party leaders.
Imran Khan said that his party could no longer remain part of the “corrupt system” in the country. Therefore, he decided to quit the assemblies and go for fresh elections.
