ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was re-arrested moments after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended his sentence in the Toshakhana criminal case.
The former PM has now been arrested in the cipher case and will stay inside the Attock jail on a judicial remand till August 30 (tomorrow) when he will be produced before the special court hearing the cipher case. The decision to remand Khan into judicial custody was announced by Official Secrets Act court judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain.
The special court sent the written order to the Attock Jail superintendent in this regard. It ordered to present the PTI chief in the court on August 30 (tomorrow). Moments ago, the IHC had suspended the sentence of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri accepted Imran Khan’s plea and pronounced the decision. The court ordered to release Imran Khan in that particular case as he was asked to submit surety bonds of Rs100,000.
