ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has nominated former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur as the party’s candidate for the slot of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

While talking to journalists in Adiala jail on Tuesday, the former Prime Minister said that “KP’s chief minister would be Ali Amin Gandapur,”. Imran Khan is currently incarcerated in a number of cases in Adiala Jail.

It is worth mentioning here that 84 independent candidates backed by PTI succeeded in the provincial seats for the KP Assembly, which would help PTI to form government in the province. In the National Assembly, PTI-backed candidates also managed to emerge as the largest group, with over 90 seats, far ahead of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which had less than 80 seats.

Imran Khan Rules out Alliance with PML-N, PPP, MQM-P

Meanwhile, the former prime minister also ruled out any possibility of having a coalition set up with PML-N, Pakistan People Party (PPP), and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). However, he said he has issued directives to the party leaders to hold talks with other parties except these three.

He alleged that the three parties were involved in bringing the biggest money launderers. He further said that the general elections being held on February 8, would bring economic stability to the country.

He, however, mentioned that in the past, there was rigging, but not at such a huge scale as being reported in this year’s general election. He also blamed that both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have lost their seats in the elections adding that PTI leader Aliya Hamza had received over 100,000 votes while being in jail.

He also informed that PTI would challenge the election results and would approach the Supreme Court against the poll results.
