ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Secretary General Asad Umar has said that party chairman Imran Khan never criticized the institution and his criticism of individuals should not be misconstrued as criticism of institutions.
In a statement, he said that the ISPR chief yesterday levelled baseless allegations against Imran Khan. He said that “Imran Khan never spoke against institutions and his criticism of individuals should never be considered akin to criticism of institutions.
He said that in fact, Imran Khan always stressed the need for strengthening institutions.
He said that the ISPR director-general should tell why court martials were carried out in the army if no one does anything wrong.
He said that in the past, the court martial of even officers has been carried out.
“If individuals of an institution do such work that leads to court-martial, then why it is not possible to criticize them as an individual?. The institution deserves love and respect for the sacrifice of its employees for the national defence,” said Asad Umar.
It was said that “not every person of an institution deserves the same respect and love”. Asad Umar said that the DG ISPR should listen to the much-publicized speech of Khawaja Asif which he delivered in the National Assembly.
