ISLAMABAD: A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Wednesday indicted former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.
The hearing of the Toshakhana case was held at the guest house of the Police Line Headquarters in H-11, where Imran Khan appeared along with his legal team.
Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar had summoned Imran Khan in his personal capacity to formally indict him in the case.
Imran Khan is accused of taking gifts from the Toshakhana illegally.
At the last hearing, the court had rejected Imran Khan’s plea to dismiss the case and ordered him to ensure his presence in the court on May.
At the last hearing, Imran Khan’s lawyer argued that the Election Commission of Pakistan’s petition was “non-maintainable” and that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
However, summoned Imran Khan in person to appear before the court for the indictment on May 10.
Imran Khan is accused of taking gifts including watches, given to him during his foreign tours, from Toshakhan, which Imran Khan allegedly sold in Dubai.
