ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan made a number of claims regarding the upcoming elections and his interactions with military officials.

In a recent interview with a private television channel, Khan alleged that PML-N is trying to postpone the elections scheduled for May 14, but that his party will not delay them any further.

He claimed that the ruling government was responsible for recording and leaking audio, which he called a violation of basic human rights.

Khan also revealed a conversation he had with former Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, in which he asked if Bajwa supported Shehbaz Sharif. Khan claimed that Bajwa said Sharif was his biggest enemy.

Regarding the election, Khan accused the coalition government of PPP and PML-N of committing to hold elections if PTI left the government in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by dissolving the assemblies, but now PML-N is running from elections.

Imran Khan criticizes PML-N for not accepting Supreme Court’s judgment

Khan criticized PML-N for opposing the Supreme Court’s judgment and not accepting the decision regarding the elections in the provincial assemblies.

He also noted that the constitution clearly stated that if the assembly is dissolved, elections must be held within 90 days.

On the issue of petroleum prices, Khan claimed that PTI froze the prices because they wanted to make a deal with Russia.

He said that he had a three-hour meeting with President Vladimir Putin and informed him about the damage to Pakistan’s economy due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis, after which Putin sent his Energy Minister to negotiate the matter with Pakistan.

Imran Khan called on the ruling government to bring forward any proposals they have regarding the elections, as PTI is willing to discuss them. However, he warned that if the government tried to delay the elections further, PTI would not go beyond May 14.

The interview highlighted Khan’s allegations against PML-N and his stance on the upcoming elections. It also shed light on his past interactions with military officials and his foreign policy priorities.
