LAHORE: Former Prime Minister and PTI chief Imran Khan has asked Islamabad Police to immediately release all workers of PTI, who have been reportedly arrested by the police during crackdown in Islamabad.
In a statement via his Twitter account, Imran Khan claimed that Islamabad police are conducting raids to arrest leaders and workers of PTI in Islamabad. He tweeted, “Fascism at unprecedented levels with police in Islamabad raiding homes without warrants to abduct PTI workers.”

He claimed that the children of PTI workers are also being picked up by Police in the city. He demanded that all workers of PTI and their children should be immediately released.

According to local media, several PTI leaders were arrested by the police during crackdowns in Islamabad late Sunday night. Islamabad police also raided Senator Shibli Faraz’s house and searched his house near Parbat Road. However, he was not present in the house.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police said that several PTI workers were arrested for their alleged involvement in mayhem in Islamabad. It added that sixty accused were also produced before the court. The police officials maintained that raids are being conducted to arrest the rest of the accused involved in mayhem in Islamabad.
