LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan announced on Friday to hold public gatherings from Monday following the government’s ‘reluctance’ to hold polls on May 14 despite orders from Supreme Court (SC).
He made the announcement while addressing the party workers, who took part in a rally in Lahore that was held to show support and solidarity with the Supreme Court of Pakistan and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).

Addressing the participants, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that PTI would also hold public gatherings from Monday to Sunday, the date SC announced for the holding of polls in Punjab.

Imran Khan also warned the incumbent government that if they defer elections in Punjab till after the federal budget, they (PTI) will resort to street until “the rule of law and constitution are restored”.
PTI held rallies in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Karachi, and other cities on Saturday evening simultaneously.

In a video message issued on social media today, Imran Khan called on the people to attend the rally to express their solidarity with the SC and CJP.
