Imran Khan Announces Rally At Minar-e-Pakistan On Sunday

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday announced that PTI would hold a power show at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on Sunday. Imran Khan made the announcement during a rally in Lahore.

Imran Khan also said that he is ‘fighting Pakistan’s war’ and that his life is in danger every time he leaves Zaman Park.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s rally in Lahore got underway on Monday afternoon, with Imran Khan himself participating despite security and arrest threats in Lahore.

The party has said that Imran Khan will make an ‘important’ announcement at his address at the end of the rally at Data Darbar.

The rally is only Imran Khan’s second participation in a political rally since being injured in an assassination attempt in November last year. However, the PTI chairman is confined to a bulletproof SUV instead of his customary container.

Imran Khan to lead PTI election campaign

PTI had announced to launch election campaign today after cancelling the rally twice in the last week after the imposition of Section 144 in the provincial capital of Punjab.

It is important to note that Imran Khan has been seeking exemptions on the pretext of security concerns. A team from Islamabad has also reached Lahore to arrest Imran Khan in judge threatening case.

The local administration of Lahore allowed the PTI after the party leadership’s promise of following the government’s directives. They submitted an affidavit, assuring the local administration of its full cooperation.

The PTI leadership also assured the authority that it would comply with the law about the usage of the sound system. Speeches against the state institutions will not be allowed in the rally, agreed the PTI.
