Imran Khan Announces Countrywide Protests Against ECP Tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday once again rejected the nomination of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and accused ECP of trying to isolate PTI form the mainstream politics. He announced to launch of countrywide protests on Tuesday while adding that they will also move the judiciary against the decision of ECP regarding the slot of chief Minister in Punjab.

Addressing a press conference through video link, the former Prime Minister criticized the ECP and said that the commission failed to control rigging and unfair means in the recent by-election in Sindh.

PTI Chief accuses ECP, Mohsin Naqvi, as anti-PTI

Criticizing the recent decision of the ECP about the Punjab CM, Imran Khan said that the Caretaker CM has a poor track record and has also spread fake news and propaganda against PTI through his private Television Channel. He added that Mohsin Naqvi was a person who had a bargain with the then NAB (National Accountability Bureau) to get relief. He also blamed Mohsin Naqvi for meeting with the former Army Chief Qamar Bajwa, who Imran said was the mastermind of all this regime change episode.

Imran Khan also blamed Qamar Javed Bajwa and stated that it was he, who issued NRO-2 to the leaders of the then-opposition and current PDM.

The PTI chairman continue his bashing against ECP and said that most of the decisions of the ECP were rejected and declared null and void by the honorable courts, but unfortunately the election commission was still habitual of issuing controversial decisions.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan has announced a countrywide protest against the decision of the ECP and has appealed to his workers and second-tier leadership to participate in the protest and have demonstrations in different parts of the country. He added they will also go to the courts against the decision of ECP over the nomination of caretaker CM Punjab.
