ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has commended the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme for bringing economic stability to Pakistan.
He made the remarks during a meeting with the IMF delegation led by Jihad Azour in Islamabad on Friday.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the overall economic situation of the country and ongoing IMF programme. The President lauded the IMF programme for bringing economic stability to the country.
He emphasized that the programme would contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth and recognized the IMF’s vital role in supporting development in emerging economies. He also expressed appreciation for the IMF’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic progress.
The delegation expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s economic reforms and the implementation of the IMF program, noting that it is moving in the right direction.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
