RIYADH: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) will hold a symposium titled “Future Prospective for Countering Terrorism through Digital Technologies” on Wednesday at its headquarters in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
The IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi said the symposium is part of the coalition’s ongoing efforts to strengthen preparedness to fight extremism and terrorism.
He said that the event will discuss the latest developments and challenges related to extremism, prevention mechanisms, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and perspectives in dealing with this international issue, particularly in the areas of media, financing, ideology, and military strategies.

The event will also focus on the role of digital technology in countering ideological terrorism, tackle ways to counter terrorist groups’ dissemination of information, underscore the critical role of research centers in understanding and analyzing terrorist group tactics, terrorist groups’ latest methods of financing their activities, and best practices in confronting terrorist threats.
