LAHORE, Pakistan: Former Pakistan international cricketer Imad Wasim has announced his separation from his wife, Sannia Ashfaq, after more than six years of marriage.
The announcement was made via social media, where the all-rounder requested privacy and stressed his continued responsibility for their children.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Imad said the decision came after “much thought” due to repeated conflicts and unresolved differences over several years.
He asked fans and the media not to circulate old photographs of the couple or refer to Sannia Ashfaq as his wife going forward.
“After much thought, and due to repeated conflicts that could not be resolved over the past few years, I have filed for divorce,” Imad wrote.
He warned that legal action would be pursued against those spreading negativity or misinformation about the matter.

Imad reaffirmed his role as a father, stating: “Regarding the children, I remain their father and will continue to care for them fully and responsibly.”
He also thanked supporters for respecting the family’s privacy during this period.
Marriage and family background
Imad Wasim and Sannia Ashfaq were married in August 2019 and have three children together.
In a brief social media comment, Sannia Ashfaq acknowledged that the marriage had faced difficulties but did not provide further details.
“My home has been broken, and my children have been left without their father,” Sannia Ashfaq wrote on Instagram.

Last year, Imad retired from international cricket. On December 13, 2024, he announced his retirement on X, stating: “Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honour of my life… While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise cricket.”
Imad Wasim, 37, has been a prominent figure in Pakistan cricket, known for his all-round capabilities in T20, ODI, and Test formats.
