DUBAI: In a spectacular Super Over showdown at Dubai International Stadium, Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah showcased nerves of steel to guide the Desert Vipers to their third consecutive win in the fourth season of the ILT20, defending 13 runs against the Gulf Giants.
The regulation T20 clash ended in a tie, with the Vipers chasing 179 for five and finishing at 179 for nine.
The match then went into a Super Over, where all eyes were on the 22-year-old Pakistani speedster.
After a no-ball start, Naseem bounced back brilliantly, using his pace and control to restrict Moeen Ali and Tom Moore to just nine runs, securing a memorable victory.

The Vipers’ response was anchored by Dan Lawrence (56 off 31 balls) and captain Sam Curran (44 off 36 balls), while Azmatullah Omarzai’s four-wicket haul kept the Giants in contention.
The win moves the Desert Vipers to the top of the table with six points from three matches, two points clear of the Gulf Giants, highlighting the thrilling competitiveness of ILT20 Season 4.
Dan Lawrence was named Player of the Match for his stellar innings.
