ISLAMABAD: The plight of the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has reached alarming levels under the oppressive regime of the Hindutva BJP.RSS and its military apparatus.
A recent analytical report by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service sheds light on the escalating atrocities, political injustices, and mental anguish inflicted upon the Kashmiri populace since August 5, 2019.
Since the revocation of the territory’s special status, Indian troops have perpetrated unspeakable violence, resulting in the martyrdom of 857 Kashmiris and the injury of 2413 others. The report paints a grim picture of a region plunged into darkness by an undemocratic regime and suffocating military siege.
Nocturnal house raids, cordon and search operations, and the arbitrary confiscation of properties have become daily realities for Kashmiris, as Indian forces seek to quash their legitimate struggle for self-determination. The brutalities inflicted upon the defenseless population underscore the urgent need for international intervention to address the humanitarian crisis unfolding in IIOJK.
India’s assault on press freedom further exacerbates the suffering of Kashmiris, with journalists facing harassment and intimidation for daring to report the truth. The BJP regime’s systematic targeting of minorities, both in IIOJK and across India, reflects a disturbing trend of religious intolerance and state-sponsored violence.
It is imperative for the United Nations and the global community to break their silence and stand in solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their quest for justice. The world must hold the Indian government accountable for its grave human rights violations in IIOJK and uphold the principles of freedom and self-determination for all oppressed peoples. Only then can the voices of the Kashmiri people be heard, and their long-denied rights restored.
