ISLAMABAD: During the visit of Indian’s President Droupadi Murmu, the residents of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) faced continued suffering as Indian troops carried out aggressive cordon and search operations (CASOs) and house raids.

The Indian President’s two-day visit to occupied Kashmir triggered extensive CASOs and house raids in regions such as Srinagar, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Islamabad, Kulgam, Rajouri, and Poonch districts. These operations subjected residents to severe harassment, with several young people arrested by Indian police and troops.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba Mufti, the President of the People’s Democratic Party, posted on the social media platform X, revealing that authorities had placed her under house arrest and prohibited her from leaving her residence during the Indian President’s visit.

Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, including Syed Bashir Andrabi, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Khawaja Firdous, Muhammad Yasin Attai, Junaid-ul-Islam, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, and Muhammad Ramzan, issued statements in Srinagar, strongly condemning the killing of two youths by Indian troops in a staged encounter in Shopian. They expressed their dismay at India’s adoption of brutal tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ just struggle for self-determination.

A delegation from the APHC-AJK chapter, led by Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, met with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Kashmir, Yousef M Al Dobeay, in Islamabad today. They briefed him on the dire human rights situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and appealed to the OIC to intensify its efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

In protest against the Modi government’s ban on the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the APHC-AJK chapter and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell organized a demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The protesters displayed placards and banners denouncing Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory.
