ISLAMABAD: Peshawar Zalmi have signed fast bowler Ihsanullah in the supplementary category for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The franchise announced the signing on Instagram on Friday, just hours ahead of the tournament’s commencement.

Rumours of his transfer from Multan Sultans to Peshawar Zalmi began circulating on social media earlier this month, especially after Ihsanullah was seen wearing a Zalmi jersey.

At the time, it was reported that the pacer had joined Zalmi’s training camp in preparation for PSL 10.

PSL performance

It is worth mentioning that Ihsanullah made a name for himself in the 2023 edition of the Pakistan Super League, where he claimed 22 wickets for Multan Sultans.

The right-arm pacer made his T20 International debut for Pakistan in March 2023.

However, he was sidelined from cricket following an elbow injury sustained during his ODI debut against New Zealand in April 2023.

He made his return to competitive cricket in 2024 through the Champions T20 Cup, but Multan Sultans opted not to select him in the PSL 10 draft held earlier this year.

PSL starts

Meanwhile, the tenth season of the Pakistan Super League is set to kick off today (11 April) with a glittering opening ceremony at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Defending champions Islamabad United will take on two-time winners Lahore Qalandars in the tournament’s opening fixture.

This edition of the PSL will feature 34 matches between 11 April and 18 May, with Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium hosting 13 games, including both Eliminators and the grand finale.
