ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the full schedule for the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2026, which will be held in England. The tournament will start on Friday, 12 June, with England playing Sri Lanka in the opening match in Birmingham.

Excitement is building for some big matchups. Australia will face South Africa, India will play Pakistan in their famous rivalry, and defending champions New Zealand will go up against the strong West Indies team. The schedule is filled with matches that promise excitement and unforgettable moments.

Over the course of more than three weeks, 12 teams will compete in a thrilling race to reach the final, which will take place at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

The first wave of priority tickets for the grand finale at Lord’s sold out in just 24 hours. Tickets for all fixtures are now available to pre-registered fans, as the countdown to a landmark summer of sport begins.

“This World Cup feels different,” said England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt. “It’s more than just cricket. It’s a movement. Playing on home soil, in front of packed crowds, with the world watching — it’s going to be unmissable.”

From Manchester to Southampton, from Leeds to London, the Women’s T20 World Cup will showcase the crème de la crème of global cricket. Matches will be played at revered venues including Headingley, Old Trafford, Bristol County Ground, and the Hampshire Bowl, culminating in the semi-finals at The Oval and the grand finale at Lord’s on 5 July.

Standout clashes dot the schedule, with India versus Pakistan at Edgbaston on Sunday 14 June expected to draw massive crowds, while traditional heavyweights Australia and South Africa lock horns the day before in Manchester. England’s group stage campaign also sees them face off against West Indies at Lord’s and New Zealand at The Oval – fixtures already buzzing with ticket activity.

Tournament Director Beth Barrett-Wild underscored the broader ambition behind the 2026 World Cup: “This is about more than runs and wickets – this is about rewriting the story of women’s cricket. We’re giving it the stage, the spotlight, and the respect it deserves. This is our moment to create legacy.”

With a record 12 teams competing, including four spots still up for grabs via the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier next year, this expanded tournament is poised to elevate the women’s game to new heights.
